President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Ahmed Yakasai, has been selected to speak at this year’s International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) in Seoul, South Korea on September 9, 2017.
The FIP Pharmacy World Congress Stakeholder Roundtable will dwell on Digitalisation and Impact on Pharmacy.
It is a federation of 139 national organisations of pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists dedicated to improving access to and value of appropriate use of medicines and contributing to changes in science, practice and health policies globally.
FIP represents over three million pharmacists worldwide and endeavors to advance the role of the pharmacist through partnerships as official Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) status with the World Health Organisation (WHO).
The event will bring together presidents and chief executive officers (CEOs) of national associations of pharmacists and FIP Council members.
The second roundtable will focus on women and responsible use of medicines, which will be moderated by Parisa Aslani, a professor of medicine use optimisation at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Sydney, Australia, among others.
A landmark, historic event took place in the annals of Nigeria's Pharmaceutical sector and the healthcare industry as a whole with the launching of the PSN Foundation and the inauguration of the Trustees of the PSN Foundation by the Hon. Minister of Health, alongside the President of PSN and the Dep. President of the NMA in the presence of the Emir of Kamo, Lamido Sanusi II (ably represented).
