In his welcome remark the Managing Director Pharm Onyeka Onyeibor, FPSN said management and staff of Evans Baroque Limited were happy to receive the PSN President, noting that it had been a while since a serving PSN President visited them at the company’s location in Industrial Estate, Agbara, Ogun State. The President responded that though it was hectic traveling the bad road, it was a wonderful experience, allowing him to understand and see one of the key logistics challenges they are facing. He also expressed delight at seeing some of his old students working as staff in the company.

The President and PSN team were then taken on a tour around Evans baroque limited to see different aspects of the company like the glucose-d production unit, microbiology lab, and more. The MD expressed his gratitude to the President whom he described as a leader with reputable character and lamented the challenges facing the manufacturing sector; like the cost of sourcing APIs, government policies that in most cases are not friendly to local manufacturers’, poor power supply which has led to companies spending millions of naira on alternative power supply including the high cost of diesel.

The Lagos state PSN Chairman advised that they should work more on products marketing strategy, possibly by collaborating with PSN either through PSN conference sponsorship or website advert placement.

Pharm. (Prof.). Cyril Usifoh, FPSN appreciated the MD and staff of Evans Baroque Limited for their service to PSN, noting that economically it is a difficult time for the country and Pharmaceutical manufacturing companies. The President used the medium to advise local manufacturers of Pharmaceutical products to make certain vital information available to PSN so they can advise the government and policymakers appropriately. He concluded by saying that the Covid-19 experience has taught us so much that we can not afford to play with our local manufacturers of essential products.
